Blue-Banded Bee
Amegilla cingulata
An Australian Native Bee
often used to 'buzz' pollinate plants in green houses.
Although they do sting they are not aggressive
so will only sting if provoked.
Seen here on a lavender bush in the garden,
blue flowers being their favourites!

Tillandsia usneonides
From the Bromeliaceae Family
AKA Old Man's Beard, Spanish Moss, Grey Beard or Tree Beard
Known as an air plant as they don't require soil to grow,
getting their water from the air.
Here I mist them during our hot, dry summers
and they are safe in the shade house from our winter frosts.

This is the first time I've noticed the very tiny flowers
that are described as insignificant.

Road safety signs for the Xmas break!
Stop. Revive. Survive.
Often there are revival stations
on major roads over holiday breaks.
Local service clubs provide a free cup of coffee,
a pleasant spot to stop
and a break on our seemingly endless long roads.

Celpar in Flower
As the celpar plant flowers it produces millions
of tiny flowers clustered together in an 'umbell'
Being a cross between celery and parsley
it is as useful as parsley,
and the stems have a strong 'celery' taste.

I'll wait for the end of this year.
