Lunar Eclipse
The eclipse last night was great fun.
A clear chilly night made viewing spectacular.
It was a chance to learn some night photography skills.
Which I still need more of!

Something new I'm trying this year is Oca (See here)
Looks interesting!
I've planted them in large pots so I can move them around.
They don't like too much heat.
So I'll move them to the shade in summer.

Just two weeks on...things are really growing fast.
Warmer days are sending the temperature soaring in there.

Another of the Correas has flowered for the first time.
The label said it would have a Lime-green flower
and I guess it was right!

Doc found this little fellow on his jumper this morning.
They often come inside and we take them back outside.
Don't pick them up by their tails though...
They drop them when they are scared!

She decided it wasn't snow.
Just the petals falling off the Almond tree.

Crested Pigeon - Ocyphaps lophotes
These common birds must be nest building now.
They are hunting around in the mulch
and taking off with bits of straw and twigs.
This one was bopping across the road this morning!

It's raining ever so gently this morning.
So I pulled the plastic off the potato patch,

The theme at Garden Club tomorrow is recycling
and the competition is something made from used material.
I've made these shorts for Doc out of calico bread bags.

This gum tree in my garden has two types of bark.
Dark and rough at the bottom.
Smooth and white at the top.

The Cootamundra Wattle Acacia baileyana
In full flower now to brighten up winter.
In danger of becoming a declared weeds in some areas.
Not in my dry garden though!

Legless Lizard
Not entirely a true name because they do have tiny legs as you can see
but they don't use them and move in a snake-like way.
People often mistake them for snakes but these are harmless!
This fellow was asleep under a rock that I disturbed while weeding.

The ladybirds are waking up with the warmer weather.
I only hope they survive any cold spells we may get.
It's still over 2 months until our 'last frost' date in October!

This Royal Blue Potato is nearly ready to plant.
The shoots are Purple because of it's blue skin.
The leaves when they grow will still be green.
